Timed to events, not to convenience

Attacks land at kick-off, at a title fight, during a race weekend. Capacity has to be available at the worst possible moment rather than on average.

Extortion with proof of capability

A short high-volume burst followed by a demand is the standard pattern, and paying buys nothing except being marked as a payer.

Mixed volumetric and application pressure

The platform is attacked at the network layer while the front end takes bot and request-rate abuse - account creation, bonus abuse, scripted odds scraping - at the same time.

Licensing carries availability obligations

Regulated markets impose uptime and reporting duties, and an outage during an event is visible to the regulator as well as to the customer.

Capacity per node, always in path

Each scrubbing location runs a cluster of ten or more Dell servers at 400 Gbps apiece, each measured filtering 100 million packets per second. Protection is always-on, so there is no activation delay at the moment the attack starts.

Sub-second enforcement

A new attack goes from first packet to enforced rule in under a second, which matters when the whole event window is ninety minutes.

Both layers, run together

Network filtering for volume and the reverse proxy for the application, with challenges escalating only for sessions that look automated - so real punters are not asked to solve a captcha at kick-off.
